I wanted to use a reasonably good quality 40 Channel SSB CB radio for the donor unit to fit inside with a PC Mini Power Supply. But I have quite a few radios that would suit but I did not want to destroy any of them for this purpose. Luckily I had purchased a cheap Pearce Simpson Super Lion at a garage sale locally for $5 a few months previously which actually worked when I took it home and tried it, to my amazement.🔥0
As I own quite a few CPI CB Radio’s I decided I had better get a Stoner Pro40 to compare them as the internal PCB’s and components are very similar from photo’s I have seen.
I took a big chance on this one, # 322 (Which I like as my Postcode is 3223) but glad I did as it is as close to perfect condition as you will get in a 1978 model cb radio base station from the USA.
